The Carmel Branch is a one-story brick-and-glass building with generous parking and located near major roads. The Carmel Branch exemplifies the friendly small-town "everybody knows your name" branch library.

Carmel's comfortable community atmosphere harks back to the days before technology, patrons can choose from nearly 60,000 titles on site. Staff can also assist in quickly obtaining any of the hundreds of thousands of other items within PLCMC entire collection or interlibrary loan. Five PCs provide access to PLCMC's catalog and other electronic resources. There are two PCs for accessing the Internet and one PC with Microsoft Word.

Children's activities and storytimes are popular at Carmel. Programs fill quickly, so call ahead. Programs for groups are booked in advance.
