Staff and references resources at the Scaleybark branch provide homework support for elementary and middle school students and general information for every day life and work. Access to several sources of on-line periodicals has expanded the realm of information patrons can access from this small branch.
Scaleybark Branch emphasizes children's programming in the branch as well as in the community and in our neighborhood schools. Come and enjoy weekly storytimes at Scaleybark or call the branch to set up a time for our children's specialist to visit your community organization or classroom.
Scaleybark branch offers seven personal computers for public use. Four computers are available for use by adult patrons and provide Internet access and word processing as well as access to several sources of full-text information from selected magazines and newspapers. Three computers are available for use by children and provide access to encyclopedias and learning games.
Come discover our large selection of Spanish language books, videos, and audio tapes which are available for check out. Scaleybark branch is one of three branch libraries offering a collection of Spanish language materials purchased with funds from a North Carolina State Library grant. For our Asian-American patrons, a selection of Vietnamese and Korean language materials is also available.
Come choose from a variety of mysteries, westerns, science fiction, and large print titles in both hardcover and paperback editions for your recreational reading in the evenings or for your next vacation. |
